We visited Bathroom Pro, the new trade fair for the bathroom industry. Two discoveries are coming with us to Itterbeck: the warm Tuscany finish by Lagoo and the new bathroom furniture by Martens & Meijer.
Yesterday we visited Bathroom Pro at the Autotron in Rosmalen, the new trade fair for the bathroom industry. It was the very first edition, bringing together more than 35 mid-range and high-end brands under one roof. Exactly the kind of day we love: seeing new collections, touching materials and catching up with the people behind the brands. Two things stood out for us, and we would like to share them with you.
Lagoo: the warm Tuscany finish
Lagoo makes taps, showers and accessories with a distinctly Italian signature: clean lines, minimalist details and production in Italy. The brand already offers eight finishes, from chrome and matt black to brushed brass and copper. The newest one is Tuscany, and it was impossible to miss at the fair.
Tuscany is a warm bronze tone. Not as bold as copper, not as yellow as brass, but somewhere in between with a soft, refined glow. It really comes into its own next to natural materials: travertine, marble, wood and earthy tile colours. Pair it with a wood-look floor or a beige stone-look tile and the bathroom instantly gets a calm, Mediterranean feel.
The good news is that Tuscany is available across most of the Lagoo ranges, from basin mixer to shower thermostat and freestanding bath filler. Matching radiators come in the same finish, so the whole room ties together. Lagoo also gives a seven-year warranty on its products.

Martens & Meijer: furniture that has been thought through
We already knew Martens & Meijer for their mirrors, but since this year the Dutch brand from Almere also has its own line of bathroom furniture. At Bathroom Pro they presented a much larger collection, and we took a good look at it.

There are three designs: Edge, Contour and Core. From sleek and modern to calm and timeless, in several sizes, so there is a suitable vanity unit for almost any bathroom. What appealed to us most are the details you benefit from every day. Glass drawer sides, smooth and silent Grass drawer runners and an anti-slip mat that keeps everything neatly in place. The units come complete with trap and a sturdy metal frame, which also makes installation a lot easier.

Because the furniture, mirrors and accessories are designed as one family, everything fits together seamlessly. At the same time the units combine well with basins and worktops from other brands. High-quality finish, yet surprisingly accessible in price. That is a combination we do not see very often.

Curious?
Both brands fit exactly how we look at a bathroom: warm materials, thoughtful design and quality that lasts.
